No es una frase o eslogan cualquiera, es nuestro propósito. Queremos cambiar el destino de todas estas personas que sólo por intentar encontrar un camino que les aleje de la violencia y la barbarie a la que se ven sometidos en su país, se encuentran con un destino igual de horrible, morir ahogados en el mar.
Hay quien dice que el destino está escrito, nuestra iniciativa lucha contra esa idea, queremos ayudar a poner los medios necesarios para que en el libro del destino de cada una de estas personas que intenta cruzar el Mediterráneo aparezca alguien, un socorrista, que sea capaz de escribir un pequeño párrafo que les desvíe de ese final anunciado, dándoles la oportunidad que todos merecemos, la de la vida.
El Destino, algo que suena inamovible, ineludible, inevitable. El Cambio, algo que altera lo estable. Parece que se contradicen, no se puede alterar lo inevitable…. ¿o sí?
It is not a common phrase or slogan is our purpose. We want to change the destiny of all those people who are trying to find a way to run away from the violence and the barbarism that they are suffering in their country. Many times these very same people discover a destiny just as as horrible as the ones the are running away from: dying drowned in the sea.
There are people who say that destiny is written, our initiative fights against this idea. We want to help to put the necessary means in place so that in the written destiny of each refugee trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea someone appears, a lifeguard that could write a small paragraph that can change their written destiny giving them the opportunity that we all deserve: life.
Destiny, something that sounds immovable, unavoidable, inevitable. Change, something that alters the constant. It seems like these concepts contradict themselves and you cannot alter the inevitable...or maybe you can?
